Over 30% of children between the ages of 13 and 18 are affected by an anxiety disorder. The number is even higher in children under 13. Research shows that children with untreated anxiety disorders are at a higher risk of performing poorly in school, engaging in substance abuse, and missing out on important social experiences.
Children try to hide their anxiety from others because in many cases, it is frowned upon by society. Many times children are silently crying for help and many times, no one knows how to help.
Many students fear an anxiety attack while they are trapped inside a classroom with no escape. Teachers try the best they can do identify students who are suffering, however, many anxiety conditions go unnoticed.
Our bands allow trusted adults to identify when a child is in need of help. The bands say all that needs to be said without words.
In the pamphlet, it provides an explanation for the bands which can be given to the appropriate people at your school. In almost ever case, the school will embrace the concept and want to help. Many of the students we have helped added the band concept to their 504 or other plan, so that help is there when you need it most.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Let us help you get there.
